2023 New Designee Conferment

The CT Chapter is having a birthday!  The CT Chapter was the 10th CPCU chapter to be founded back on September 10, 1948, and has been a driving force in promoting the education of new insurance colleagues as well as providing them with leadership opportunities and professional kinship once they have received the designation. As you aware, Hartford, Connecticut has been the hub of the Insurance industry for over two centuries, and it is only fitting to fete one of the oldest chapters of one of the earliest professional designations. 

We will be holding our gala event on Thursday, September 28^th at the Pond House in West Hartford, starting at 5pm. The event will highlight our new CPCU designees in addition to honoring our history as a Chapter of the CPCU Society. It is our honor to have Matt Dolan, President North America Specialty and Executive Vice President, Global Risk Solutions, at Liberty Mutual Insurance as our Keynote Speaker.

New Designees and Past Presidents are free to attend; Chapter Members receive a reduced price of $25.  Guests will be charged $45 for a sit down plated meal and reception.  A cash bar will be included.

Matt Dolan’s Bio

Matt Dolan is President, North America Specialty, which is part of Liberty Mutual’s Global Risk Solutions division. Matt oversees specialty and excess & surplus offerings in the U.S. and Bermuda under the Liberty Mutual Insurance. He also leads Ironshore, the dedicated U.S. wholesale arm of Liberty Mutual.

Matt brings more than 30 years of experience in the specialty insurance arena. ​Previously, before it was bought by Liberty Mutual in 2017, Matt was part of the Ironshore senior leadership team and was highly involved in growing the insurer into an international E&S operation. During his tenure at Ironshore, Matt was President, IronHealth, the professional healthcare liability unit, as well as Executive Vice President, Ironshore Inc. Matt was also a Founder and President of OneBeacon Professional Partners.

He graduated with a BA from Catholic University and has CPCU designation.
