Deb is a Product Director for Travelers, mainly responsible for General Liability and Professional coverages. She started in the insurance industry in 1987, and worked in Claims before moving to Product Development in 2007. Deb holds a BA from the University of Connecticut, and earned the CPCU designation in 2012. Deb has served on the Good Works committee since 2012, and was Director of Good Works in 2016 and 2017.
Chapter Vice President
Wendy is a Workers Compensation Sr. Product Manager at The Hartford with 20+ years of insurance experience in product development, process excellence, and project execution with a strong varied background in P&C insurance with a concentration in Workers Compensation. Wendy holds a BS in Business Analytics from the University of Connecticut and is pursuing a dual major MBA/Masters in Business Analytics and Project Management from UCONN. She earned the CPCU designation in 2002. Wendy has served on the Diversity committee since 2016, and was Director of Education in 2017 and 2018.
Immediate Past President
Oanh is a Product Manager at Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB) with responsibility over Specialty Liability Products including EPL, Cyber, Miscellaneous Professional Liability and Contractors E&O. Prior to HSB, Oanh was an Underwriting Manager at Travelers. She is a licensed Connecticut P&C Producer and Surplus Lines broker and is a certified Continuing Education instructor in several New England states. Oanh obtained her CPCU in 2012 and has been active with the CT CPCU Society Chapter since, serving in various roles including Director of Education and Secretary.
Director of Membership
Courtney Allen is currently employed by Travelers as a Major Case Specialist in the Major Case Unit for Workers Compensation. She has worked at Travelers since 2014 but was promoted to her current role in 2017. She began working in the legal system in 2009 in various law firms and spent one year working for the State of Connecticut. Courtney is a graduate of Rockville High School in Vernon, CT. She holds a Bachelor’s of Psychology from Rhode Island College in Providence, RI and a Juris Doctorate from Western New England University School of Law in Springfield, MA. She completed her CPCU in 2016 and served as Director of Good Works in 2018.
Director of Education
Cassandra is an Underwriter with Travelers, working in Commercial Accounts – Middle Market. Prior to her role in Underwriting, Cassandra was a Product Manager for Travelers Small Commercial CMP Product. Cassandra holds a BS in Actuarial Science and Economics from Eastern Michigan University, and earned her CPCU designation in 2017. This is Cassandra’s first role as part of the Connecticut Chapter CPCU Society.
Justin is the New England State Relations Executive for the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) and focuses on the health of the workers compensation system in the region. Prior to joining NCCI in 2017, Justin spent 19 years in various roles with Travelers, most recently as their head of Compliance and Research for State and Bureau Regulatory Affairs. Justin holds a BS in Finance from Babson College, is a graduate of the Travelers Financial Leadership Development Program, and earned his CPCU designation in 2017.
Director of Visibility
Marc Perrone is a small commercial underwriter at The Hartford. Marc started his insurance career in 2012 and obtained his CPCU in February of 2017. Prior to his role as a small commercial underwriter, Marc worked as a senior account specialist and frontline underwriter for Liberty Mutual personal lines where he served as a rating expert and frontline underwriter. Marc achieved his double BA in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and has served as the director of visibility for the second straight year.
Andy Welch is a Product Development Manager at Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB) responsible for enhancements to existing product lines, as well as the development of new specialty products. Prior to HSB, Andy was a workers’ compensation Product Owner at Travelers. Andy also worked in commercial lines underwriting at both Travelers and The Hartford before moving to Product related roles in 2015. Andy holds a BFA in Creative Writing from Johnson State College and earned his CPCU designation in 2018.
